One thing i never thought i would write about in this blog is a reality show, other than to be negative about it, but i have to say something about the BBC show to find a girl to play Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz.
As quality of performance goes it has been a revelation revealing to the nation some very good singers indeed. Unlike the X-Factor where most of the contestants have difficulty even singing one note correctly they are not even clever enough to realise they are tone deaf.
But not the Dorothys they can not only sing but have to learn not only new songs each week but also dance and acting routines. How they manage it all in such a short space of time is hard to understand and shows just how good they are.
I am going to make a special mention of Steph Fearon - not my favourite to win, the girl who was voted off the show this week. Her attitude at being the last girl to not reach the final next week was something to applaud. She had a big grin which showed that she had had a brilliant time and she sang her leaving song perfectly. No histrionics or 'how can i carry on' that you get with X-Factor but instead a professional attitude to what had happened. She deserves to go far.
